Blog Entry|: the youth of today

The person I had chosen to do the article was young and upcoming designer Sindiswa Mgabhi she has done a lot in her life, she fought through to make her life a success.
With South Africa recently have celebrated 19 year into freedom, the youth is usually crucified of not paying any attention or being grateful to the people who had fought for them.
Every South African struggle holiday the youth is reminded how ungrateful they are, not paying attention to the youth who are striving and going out there and making it happen.
Young professionals who believe education is the way to success. The minority of the youth who sit in corners and wait for hand outs is mistaken believed to be every South African youth.
Sindiswa said even though there are some people who tarnish the youths name drinking, sleeping around and constructing diseases and blaming it on unemployment and poverty where else they do not want to change their mind sets and do something.
Yes it will not be easy but I do believe it has to be done, no one said the road to success will be easy and the worst part is there are no short cuts.

Reflective piece--WOMEN EMPOWERING

I choose to do a speech by a women speaking about empowering women because I am a young black South African women who is still trying to her feet in the world.

I am still finding my purpose in this male dominated world. Where women are abused and killed. I also believe in ending that mentality that women are inferior to men.

“Average woman in South Africa is more likely to get raped than to complete her studies, shocking,” said Mamphele Ramphele.

Women need to empower each although this is a ‘cliché’ I feel there is more to be done.

What was challenging about this assignment was people feel it is a cliché to talk about women empowerment but I do not feel that way, my theory is here in South Africa we will not stop empowering women until we are governed by one.

Whether that will happen in maybe 20 years to come or not it still needs to happen, women governing the country will mean a women looking after women and children with laws behind it that matter.

Draft of Human Trafficking Story (Reflective Pieces)

With a lot of findings recently I decided to do a story about human trafficking, although my angle is not fresh. My angle is it could happen to you.

Working on the story was hard because initially this was not the organization/story I had chosen from the start, I had chosen a story about Child Social Grant beside from not getting the video. I opted to change my story. The first story would have been dry and I felt there was no fresh angle I could go with.

With the human/child trafficking story I had a lot of sources I could use and the fact that local soapie Generation has a story line about it and SABC2 talk show Motswako had local young actress, presenter Boitumelo “Boity” Thulo talk about her experience whereby she was lured by people who said they were from ‘Neutrogena’ (international skin care brand). They got her to fly to Cape Town where after booking her into the hotel they were eager to get her out off the hotel to meet some people.

It would never happen to me. This is what most people believe about human trafficking, whether you think you are smarter or adroit of taking care of yourself, you could see yourself living in another country unwillingly.

Shocking fact is there are also people who think they have had their fair share of mishaps and see living in another country doing God knows what s better than the life they are living now.

In future I need to work hard of thinking of a fresh new angle to go with on a story. Most of my stories are boring or have been done to death that is what I struggle with in school work and my Blog.

Hair-Dos. . .

It is said to be the most important feature in a women head, in some countries women are perceived beautiful through the length of their hair or texture.

Within the past few year hair has became closely associated with fashion, class and style and in some cases; how deep is your pocket?

There are ladies out there who can rock, long, short, straight, curly hair in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter and look drop-dead-gorgeous.

And err.. there those unfortunate sister who err... struggle. Finding a hair style that suits your face can be a hustle and the major problem most sister are faced with is 'I was to do that hair style I saw on. . .' Which is a major NO-NO!!!

Like my sister always say; "Just because it looks good on someone else, doesn't necessarily mean it will look good on you too." That does not only apply to fashion it applies to hair too.

But then not everyone has an for these things, I often wonder who ever thought Mmm! My hair is short let me see what I can do about it if I don't want to braid it.... And weave, extentions were born.

Here are some of the hair style that are available for everyone to choose from . . .

Do bare in mind what my sister said . . .

Jean-volution

We all own a pair or have owned a pair, in different colors, cuts and sizes, but the material is the same.
Denim Jeans. . .

Denim is a rugged cotton twill textile, it has been in usage since 18th century. The word Denim comes from a sturdy fabric called serge, originally made in Nimes, France, by Andre family (Family Affair). The fabric was called Serge de Nime, which was shorten to Denim (Thankfully).

Denim was available in one color; blue with indigo dye to make blue 'jeans'. Use of jeans comes from the French word for Genoa, Italy, where the first denim trousers were made. (And moving right along from the unexpectedly History Lesson).

Did you know?
In the 50's jeans were worn by 'slaves' as the material was hard and could not tear easily. . .

Denim material is versatile, it has been used to make pants, shirts, jackets and even dresses. Although the original blue jean has gone though so many 'face-lift'; stretching jeans, colored jeans, high waist-ed, jeggings and and and. . .

Here is the revolution of a pair of jeans. . .

1950, in the United States a type of trousers is produced for work, resistant and durable, produced to be used by the mining community.
